Classic lemonade is great, but summertime calls for a bit of fun. We’ve made elevated lemonade by adding new flavors like ginger and lavender.
Lavender syrup is delicious, but too much of it will taste like soap. Try 2 pumps for 8oz of lemonade. We added thyme for decoration, but you can infuse your lemonade beforehand with thyme or make thyme simple syrup. Ginger isn’t just for cooking. It’s delicious is smoothies and especially lemonade.
Ginger simple syrup:
Grate 10 oz of fresh ginger. Combine the ginger, sugar, and 4 cups of the water in a medium pot over high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium, and simmer for 45 minutes. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve, pressing on the ginger with the back of a spoon. You should have about 3 cups of syrup. Cool to room temperature. Add in the desired amount to your taste.
You can also throw in fresh ginger and stir, just let it sink to the bottom before you drink and the ice will block you from eating it.
