A Dessert Charcuterie Board

Chocolate Charcuterie Board

If there’s one thing that we know and love here at Gygi, it’s chocolate. We created a dessert charcuterie board with an emphasis on one very special ingredient. You guessed it— chocolate! Whether you melt and dip goodies in it or eat by the wafer, chocolate is a crowd-pleaser that satisfies any sweet tooth!

When creating a chocolate charcuterie board, use high-quality chocolates! We love using couverture chocolate because of its delicious flavor and smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Most of the time couverture chocolate requires a tempering process. However, when it’s melted for dipping and then eaten immediately, the tempering rules don’t apply. You are able to melt it down, dip some fruit or cookies, and enjoy it right away!

So now that you know to select couverture chocolate, we suggest including a variety of flavor profiles. On the board pictured above, we have included white, milk, and dark couverture chocolates as well as ruby and gold caramel callets! When it comes to the other additions for your dessert charcuterie board, this is where the real fun can begin. Fruit is a great place to start, we highly suggest having a variety of fresh and dried fruit (strawberries + chocolate are just meant to be together.) From there, make sure you are adding a few buttery or savory options as well as salty dippers. You can also add a few of your favorite candies (we’re talking about you cinnamon bears!) Gummy orange slices also make a great addition to a dessert board.

You really can’t go wrong with chocolate– everyone loves it! A chocolate charcuterie board (or any dessert board) serves as a delicious statement piece at any gathering. Whether it’s a girl’s night, Valentine’s Day, or a fun family night, chocolate makes everything better!
